With 4 area branches, the Chattanooga Public Library is the perfect cold weather escape. Complete with magical destinations for play and learning, designed especially for children, each location offers weekly events, story times and popup programs. The entertainment at the library isn’t limited to books. Discover literacy stations, LEGO tables, puzzles, games, toys, trains and a dress up playhouse.

Creative Discovery Museum

Explore, innovate, create and play at the Creative Discovery Museum. Children enjoy hands on experiences, core and rotating exhibits, science experiments and more. Fire your imagination at one of the top children’s museums in the country.

High Point Climbing

Fun for kids of all ages, High Point Climbing even offers a Kid Zone specially designed for young climbers. The 3,000-square foot area includes 15 auto belays and 10-foot boulder. Children can work off their extra energy while climbing to new heights.


Journey through river and the ocean at the Tennessee Aquarium. Children will delight as they enjoy seeing animals of all shapes and sizes.

Tennessee Valley Railroad Children of all ages will enjoy an afternoon ride on the Tennessee Valley Railroad. From Chattanooga’s Grand Junction Station, passengers will ride the original Chattanooga rail lines, crossing bridges and traveling through a pre- Civil War tunnel.  This 55-minute adventure is an exciting trip back in time.
