We are busy teaching our children ABCs, manners, and right from wrong, while they each us a thing or 2 too! Of course they teach us about patience and unconditional love, but they’ve also taught us a few hard lessons. After we’ve finished scratching our heads and wondering how we ended up here, we learned a few lessons…
- A king size bed is large enough to accommodate a family of 4 plus the dog.
- A singing 4-year-old is louder than even concert you’ve ever attended.
- When in doubt always look in the couch cushions
- Silence is golden until you have children
- There is no such thing as child proofing your house
- The best way to get your child’s attention is to sit down.
- Never do laundry without first emptying pants pockets.
- There is no pain quite like stepping on a Lego barefoot in the middle of the night
- Dish liquid and dish washers create a bubble explosion
- There is no level of tired that can compare to being tired as a mother.
- Toddlers may not be able to eat a meal without spilling it, but they can operate an i-phone.
- Few things in life take longer than a child telling a story.
- Children can never find their missing shoes, but they can always find the hidden peas in their dinner.
And those are just a few of the things we’ve learned today!
